My wife is a middle school teacher and loves the peace of the summer. She was ready for school this week. For me, summer means more tutoring than during the regular school year. It did this year because so many of my students were working on preparing for the SAT and ACT.
My Tampa tutoring business has grown partly by word-of-mouth and partly because of parents finding me on the blog, so perhaps this school year will be busy for me. I hope so.
I’m looking forward to seeing a few of my tutoring students who traveled over the summer and hearing about their adventures.
For the 16-year-old in our house, back to school means savoring the independence of being able to drive herself and the end of daylight sleeping time. The end of staying up to watch Craig Ferguson’s silly puppets.
I wish her, along with all the other students lucky enough to be heading to school this fall, good luck.
