Tampa SAT Tutor’s Student Headed to Harvard!

Posted on 22nd February 2011 in English Tutor Success Stories

One of my students is going to Harvard University! I am so thrilled for her.

We worked together and dramatically improved her writing score. She is a superb student and will thrive at Harvard. Very few of my students work as hard as she did to improve her scores.

SAT Student Scores 40 Point Gain on Writing

Posted on 26th December 2010 in English Tutor Success Stories

One of my favorite Tampa SAT tutoring students just got her scores back. She scored 40 points better on SAT writing! She is an exceptional student and already had top scores in math and reading, so the gain in writing is good news!

She is looking at University of Florida, FSU, and University of Central Florida and should be a good candidate for admission for all three schools.

I applaud her hard work and dedication to getting in to a top school.

Tampa ACT Tutor Gets Good News

Posted on 23rd November 2009 in Tampa ACT Preparation, Tampa SAT Preparation

Today, I needed some good news. One of my favorite test prep students managed to raise his ACT English score by five points. An excellent student, he was  attempting to earn admission to an honors program at a state university.  The better ACT score should seal the deal.

Tampa IB History Tutoring Success Story

Posted on 19th July 2009 in Tampa English Tutor

I recently spoke to the parents of one of my Tampa, FL history IB tutoring students.

I started tutoring her late in the last school year because she was struggling in the ancient history class that all freshmen in the IB program take at King High School.

For some students, the level of reading required to master the textbook for the course is a challenge.

At any rate, I heard this week that she did very well in the course. I’m pleased and very proud of her. She is one of the hardest working and most dedicated students that I have ever tutored.

Her results are a reflection of the daily work that she did.

Tampa Private Tutor Celebrates Student Success

Posted on 1st June 2009 in Tampa English Tutor

As a Tampa tutor, I suppose the milestones in my business are not always measured by billable hours or other metrics. This year two of my students graduated. A student whom I worked with when she was just getting underway at Hillsborough Community College finally walked this spring. As someone assigned to help her get over the hurdle in English I and English II, I am very proud of her. She stuck it out and earned her AA.

It seems like yesterday that we were working together to improve her essays and writing.

Life goes so fast.

My first private tutoring client hired me when I answered an advertisement that my wife saw at USF for an American Government tutor. That was four years ago. I met a student who was having difficulty passing AG at King High School. Bright and easily capable of the work, she mastered the material quickly once we started working together.

This week she graduated and will be doing great things at FSU.

Those are the milestones that make me proudest of my work as a Tampa tutor.  I am thankful to have had the chance to help both of them. If your son or daughter needs extra help this summer, I have two new openings for tutoring.
